JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — A hilarious mashup of Shakespearean England and 21st century Broadway will make its “rotten” way to SUNY Jamestown Community College’s Scharmann Theatre this month.
Jamestown resident Charles Sisson started his college career in the fall of 2019 at SUNY Jamestown Community College. He was happy to stay in his home community, and had an eye on his next steps, but was largely focused on the two years ahead of him.
“I always saw JCC was affordable, and good for me as a student, because I prefer a smaller campus feel,” Sisson said. “What satisfied me most was that I was getting challenged just as much as in any other SUNY school. I never found myself at JCC thinking this would be an easy ride.”
OLEAN, N.Y. — SUNY Jamestown Community College Workforce Development is hosting a Joining Community Through Coffee event on Wednesday, Nov. 1 from 7:30 - 9 a.m. at the Cattaraugus County Campus Student Union in the College Center building.
Joining Community Through Coffee is an opportunity for Olean area businesses to network, connect, and discuss ways to best support one another.
BUFFALO, N.Y. — SUNY Jamestown Community College was awarded the Community Partner of the Year Award for Chautauqua County at Goodwill of Western New York’s Annual Pathways to Success event on Oct. 19. Grant Umberger, director of Workforce Development at JCC, accepted the award on behalf of JCC.

SUNY Jamestown Community College is finding its place in several online ranking websites that aim to help students make informed decisions when choosing a college. Many of the ranking systems that have recognized SUNY JCC note the affordability of earning a degree, and flexibility of scheduling classes.
In a recent American College Health Association report, SUNY Jamestown Community College was featured with other community colleges for their role in managing the COVID-19 crises on campus and in the community.
Academic Affairs, announced the 40 students who were awarded degrees or certificates from the Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses of SUNY Jamestown Community College in Summer 2023. Six students earned highest honors (4.0 GPA), 12 earned high honors (3.50-3.99 GPA), and five earned honors (3.25-3.49 GPA).
The term “broke college student” is often used with resigned acceptance, as many people think this state is normal when pursuing a college degree.
